Stock prices sagged for most of August, returning to the starting point at the very end. Biotech stocks outperformed for the month and health care and utilities offered gains. July markets continued to climb with both stocks and bonds gaining over the month. Only small company value stocks – the long term leaders – slipped a bit. Technology stocks continue to outperform the rest of the market. There is an acronym for today’s leading technology companies: FAANG, for Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, and Google. [Read more…]

Stocks continued to climb over the month adding to already impressive gains year to date and over the past year. Our average diversified portfolio net-of-fee return closed June competitive with the S&P stock index over the month and the past year.
